Wausau Chapter IAAP ®

The IAAP Wausau Chapter chartered May 13, 1961 is driven by our members.  The Chapter is a team working for various employers in the region and joining through their membership in IAAP Wausau to support each other in our profession.

Actively pursuing continuing education opportunities, polishing your written and verbal communication skills, and getting involved in outside organizations to stretch yourself is essential.

Educational and informative Chapter meetings are held monthly from September through March with an Administrative Professionals Conference in April, Annual Elections in May, and a Chapter picnic in August.

Our Chapter Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of the month.  Guests are always welcome.
Meetings are graciously hosted by one or more of our members each month at the company of a local employer.  A light meal is offered to the attendees wishing to participate at a cost of $7; others bring their own, or dine later with their family.

Through our Chapter membership contacts and programs, we find answers to such questions as:
  • Who to contact at which hotel, restaurant, conference center to host a business meeting?
  • What courses are being offered for administrative professionals?
  • What are the benefits of becoming a Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS®) or Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP®)
  • How can I earn the CPS/CAP® designations? What is the exam like? How should I study for it? Where is the exam held?
  • How can I add some leadership experience to my resume?
  • I like to help others and am a really good administrative professional.  How can I help?
  • How can I mentor students entering my profession?

Our Chapter Team, working under the umbrella of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and the Wisconsin Division, supports and maintains IAAP standards of Excellence.
